Sunday Feast
The highlight of the week for ISKCON temples around the world is the popular Sunday Feast. The Sunday Feast is a culturally rich and vibrant experience of traditional Vedic culture that is open and welcome to both congregants and new-comers alike.
It begins at 5:45 pm with the worship of Tulasi Devi, a spiritual personality who brings good fortune to those practicing spirituality. This is followed at 6:00pm by the main service or worship, termed as Arati in Sanskrit. This includes the offering of incense, lamp, water, cloth, flower and a fan to the deities. Concluding at 6:30pm, this is followed by a brief discourse based on Vedic scriptures and culminates in the most anticipated moment of all. A free, hot, delectable vegetarian meal consisting of seven to ten preparations!! However, the experience doesn’t simply end there; the evening ends with the last aartis at 8pm, which is filled with wonderful music and devotional singing (kirtan) which often lasts until 9pm. So please come and experience these wonderful sights and sounds at your ISKCON Toronto temple!
