Rath Yatra - International Festival Of India

The International Festival of India is a celebration that routes back to Jagannatha Puri, India in the 1400’s. The parade commemorates a journey that Lord Krishna, in the form of ‘Jagannatha’ took with His elder brother Balarama, and younger sister Subhadra.

The parade will consist of three large chariots, each housing one of Jagannatha, Balarama, or Subhadra. Devotees pull the chariots with long ropes to symbolically bring the siblings to Vrindavana faster.

It was a journey They took while exhibiting Their earthly pastimes some 5000 years ago. They embarked on this journey to reunite with the dear cowherd girls of Vrindavana, India, with whom They had been separated for years.
