Children's Classes
Children are like the potters clay, any form and shape give to them lasts a lifetime and a form that is in consonance with the laws of nature, consistent with Krishna’s creation and full of love for him will inevitably spread love and hapiness around. It is the duty of every parent to find and mix the finest ingredients with this clay, the ingredients of love, respect and devotion and we at our temple attempt to provide those ingredients by following the principles of Bhakti.
Devotion for Krishna is an amazing thing, it first demands love and once the same is shown, Krishna reciprocates with opportunities to increase that love and abilities to spread the same. Our childrens classes are an attempt to engage children in Bhakti and make them learn at the same time. In our classes children by painting Krishna’s pasttimes, reading and writing about them, singing his glories and listening to his pranks develop their basic reading, writing and painting skills and also learn the process of devotion. Art and Music based on Krishna’s past-times like paintings, bhajans and Kirtanas is also one of the ways to serve Krishna and thus obtain his mercy.
The class is conducted by senior devotees at the temple and children are provided with the necessary tools like instruments and crayons. They most certainly enjoy the mix of fun, play, learning and devotion in the class and one can expect anywhere between 5-15 children in the class at a typical Sunday class. It is conducted in the temple basement at the reading room, adjacent to the library and between 5-6 pm every Sunday but children can always come in earlier or stay back longer.
We may also in the future start other activities for children that you may be interested in. Please call the temple for more Information on the Sunday class or any other new activities. You may also visit the instructor during the class to know more in this regard.
